Chief Justice's Emergency Directive & Updated CARES Act Affidavit
Following are important updates from AANC about the Chief Justice's recent order extending emergency directives and a link to the revised CARES Act affidavit.
Revised CARES Act Affidavit - This updated affidavit from the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts includes the necessary CDC declaration language. By using this affidavit you will no longer need a separate CDC affidavit, and it does not need to be notarized. Link
Chief Justice's Order Extending Emergency Directive - On December 14 Chief Justice Cheri Beasley released her order closing courts for most matters until January 14, 2021. Theoretically, most courts should still accept new filings but not schedule until after January 14, 2021. In addition to reinstating this Emergency directive, she is also extending several other Directives from the past month. To see the full list of extended Emergency Directives follow the link.
