WInston-Salem City Council Approves Rezoning for Mixed Use Project with 325 Housing Units
Winston-Salem's city council unanimously approved rezoning a site for mixed use near the Innovation Quarter that will include 325 townhouse and apartment units in addition to retail and office space. Here are some details from the Triad Business Journal:
Liberty Atlantic Development Partners, a minority-owned real estate company based in Charlotte, will develop Metropolitan Village between Third and Fifth streets on the current site of Garden Court Apartments. Only three of 12 apartment buildings on the site are occupied; the other buildings are boarded up.
Liberty Atlantic's plan calls for:
- Two four-story buildings on the northern half of the site fronting Fifth Street and Fourth Street, with 265 residential units and the potential for office and other commercial uses on the ground floor.
- Three three-story townhouse buildings with 60 residential units on the southern end of the site.
- A commercial and office building on southwest portion of the site.
