Meet our Speakers:

Commissioner Mike Causey

Mike Causey was elected to serve as your Insurance Commissioner in 2017 and has since been re-elected to second and third terms. Commissioner Causey is a native of rural Guilford County where he grew up on a dirt road produce farm and attended public schools, learning the value of hard work. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a military policeman and played trombone in the Army band. He has been a surveyor, construction manager small business owner and spent over 25 years in the insurance business, from agent to agency manager to Superintendent of Agencies supervising multiple states.  

Commissioner Mike Causey enjoys serving the citizens of our state as the Department of Insurance meets the insurance needs of North Carolina families and businesses. He is passionate about the fight for more competition in the industry and in driving insurance rates lower for the North Carolina consumer. His motto is simple and clear, “We’re here to help.”
