New Apartments Slated for Emerging Winston-Salem Neighborhood
Two firms that have already partnered to develop a couple of apartment communities in Winston-Salem are planning a third project in the city. From an article in the Triad Business Journal:
DPJ Residential of Charlotte and Chaucer Creek Capital of Raleigh plan to build a five-story, 244-unit development in the Industry Hill section of downtown Winston-Salem. An adjacent parking deck with 344 spaces is part of the project.
The developers plan to build the apartments on property bordered by Trade, 10th and Oak streets, across Trade from Winston Junction Market. DPJ principal Porter Jones said he expects construction to begin some time in 2021.
The apartment project will be the third in downtown Winston-Salem for DPJ and Chaucer Creek since 2017. The partners developed West End Station, which opened in early 2019. They are currently working on The Easley, near BB&T Ballpark, which Jones said is targeted to open its first phase in March 2022...
The apartment community will add a significant housing element to Industry Hill, which includes entertainment/food and beverage options such as The RamKat music venue, Wise Man Brewing, Fiddlin' Fish Brewing, Radar Brewing, Earl's, BATL: Axe Throwing, Gas Hill lounge and Broad Branch Distillery.
