Piedmont Triad Apartment Association to Host Job Fair to Encourage Entry Into Multifamily Careers

Greensboro, NC, May 23, 2022- The Piedmont Triad Apartment Association (PTAA) is proud to announce a collaboration with community partners to connect job seekers to entry-level positions that open the door to careers in the multifamily industry. PTAA will host their first job fair, presented by Truist, at their Maintenance Training Center in Greensboro on Saturday, June 11 from 10am-3pm. Member companies of the Association that own and operate apartment communities in the Triad will be in attendance to provide information about opportunities in their organizations, from groundskeeping and entry-level maintenance to leasing office positions. Many of these career paths do not require a college degree. Representatives from Truist will also present a free seminar on financial literacy, including lunch, for the job seekers in attendance.

Careers in the growing multifamily industry can begin at the entry level without experience or degree requirements, and the paths to advancement within the industry to supervisory and management roles are clear and attainable through on-the-job training and certification programs. The Piedmont Triad Apartment Association provides courses, such as Certified Apartment Leasing Professional (CALP) and Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT), annually as part of its mission to provide continuing education and professional development to meet the needs of members and improve apartment living in the Triad. PTAA is partnering with workforce development organizations, including Guilford Works and Boys & Girls Clubs, as well as schools and community colleges, to highlight the abundant opportunities in the industry, and encourage graduating high school seniors, among others, to attend the job fair next month.

“The Piedmont Triad Apartment Association is proud to work with our community partners to help ensure that recent graduates have access to high-quality career opportunities,” said Michael McKinney, Executive Director of the Piedmont Triad Apartment Association. “The rental housing industry offers a wealth of career options, and we are thrilled to introduce local students to these opportunities. Pairing local citizens with careers in our communities helps everyone, and it’s an honor to participate.”

There is no fee or registration required for job seekers to attend the fair, located at 7021 Suite D, Albert Pick Rd. in Greensboro, on June 11. Attendees are encouraged to bring resumes if applicable, and a pen and paper. Lunch will be provided for attendees at the Financial Literacy Seminar, presented by Truist, at noon.

PTAA and all participating companies at this event are Equal Opportunity Employers. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
