Renters Getting More for Their Money in the Triad
A recent analysis by the research group RentCafe, reported on by the Triad Business Journal, points to a potential "pro" for renters in the Triad. According to the report, Winston-Salem, Greensboro and High Point offer renters more elbow room for their money.
Winston-Salem comes in first of the Triad cities, ranking number 7 across the US for most space per person for renters, followed by High Point and then Greensboro at number 16. Each city offers renters apartments that grants roughly 680 square feet - or two rooms - per renter. Space per renter can be an important factor as more people are continuing to work from home and want to maintain a healthy personal space between themselves and a partner or a roommate.
The trend nationwide over the last decade has been a shrinking of floor plan size, decreasing to an average of 913 square feet of total space in apartments.
