Camden to Require Vaccinations

Camden Property Trust, a company with 1,700 employees and 57,000 apartments, said its employees, including property and maintenance managers at its apartments, have until October 11 to get vaccinated. Here's more about it from an article in CoStar News:

Camden Property manages its apartments in-house. It is one of the first large REITs to publicly announce a vaccination requirement for employees. Campo said he has spoken with other executives of apartment management firms about the move but did not disclose specific companies. A handful of other real estate companies have unveiled similar vaccination requirements in recent months, including New York-based Related Cos., which manages about 63,000 apartments, and the Durst Organization.

“Throughout the pandemic, we have adjusted our safety protocols as conditions have changed," Campo said. "The Delta variant and the rise in infections nationwide and at Camden changed our view on requiring employee vaccinations. We believe that this is the right thing to do for Camden and hope other companies follow our lead.”...

Camden Property’s office workers can work remotely or come into the office where they have instituted enhanced safety protocols, Campo said. The apartment manager has 500 employees in Houston, where it has its headquarters in Greenway Plaza.
