Paying attention to employee feedback sets Phillips Management Group apart in a national Top Employers award

Triad apartment communities are at capacity in a tight housing market. At the same time, it’s not easy to retain qualified talent to maintain and manage the properties in an equally tight labor market. However, a concerted effort of Phillips Management Group to attract and retain employees has earned the property management firm a Top Employers Award, based on anonymous employee surveys.
Greensboro, NC – The National Apartment Association (NAA) has announced Phillips Management Group as a winner of the 2022 NAA Top Employers Award, which recognize member organizations that foster cultures of collaboration, innovation, and hard work. The NAA awards pay tribute to management companies and suppliers from across the rental housing industry that have gone above and beyond to create safe, engaging, and caring work environments over the past year. Employees and their satisfaction – measured through an anonymous survey – determine the award winners and finalists in each of the four categories. The results of the survey are provided to all nominees to help organizations better understand and recognize employee sentiment.
“This honor is one hundred percent attributable to our employees. It’s an honor that we don’t take lightly,” said Maria Barker, President of Phillips Management Group. “Our focus for several years has been on bettering the company’s culture and the lives of our colleagues.”
Barker cites the employee feedback as key to recruitment and retention during the current “war for talent.” “We’ve listened to employee feedback and implemented various tools and measures to ensure that we are on the right track,” said Barker. “Company engagement scores continue to indicate that we are truly walking the talk and making a difference in the lives of people – employees and customers alike.”
The 2022 NAA Top Employers award demonstrates a focus on employees, engagement, and performance.
Bob Pinnegar, NAA President and CEO, in his message to Phillips Management Group said: “Your employees made it clear — Phillips Management Group cares about, listens to, and acts upon the needs and ideas of their employees and is a great place to work. NAA appreciates your efforts in fostering a robust workplace culture and the hard work valuing and engaging your team over the past year.”
“Our people and our culture are extremely important to current and future company goals, and we understand that without great people propelling us forward, the company will not be successful,” said Barker. “We are grateful for this recognition and all that it stands for. It is a testament to the hearts and spirit of all PMG employees, and I consider it a great honor and privilege to work alongside such incredible people.”
